New Delhi: The national capital on Friday reported 1,607 fresh COVID-19 infections, bringing the total number of active cases in the city to 5,609, according to the Delhi government’s health bulletin.
The city reported the highest number of fresh infections since February 4 this year, when 2,272 cases were recorded, according to the Delhi Health Department. The daily case positive rate is 5.28%.
A total of 1,246 patients recovered from the disease. The total number of people recovering from the outbreak of the epidemic in the city has risen to 18,49,772.
During this period, two people infected with the virus died of the virus, bringing the death toll in the national capital to 26,174. More than 30,000 code samples were tested in the city yesterday, according to official figures.
Under the nationwide CoVID-19 vaccination campaign, a total of 60,287 eligible beneficiaries were given doses of corona virus vaccine in Delhi on Friday. So far, 3,34,01,239 doses of vaccine have been provided in the national capital.
