A SAVVY driver has revealed a 6p Sainsbury’s item that will de-ice your car in seconds with no fuss.
When Christina, who goes by @homewithchristina on TikTok, revealed her winter hacks online, drivers said they had no idea WD-40 could get them through their cold mornings.
Christina explains that by spraying the inside of your doors with WD-40, you can prevent them from freezing shut.
The £6 product at Sainsbury’s has up to 100 uses, meaning customers spend just 6p each time they defrost their car.
WD-40 can also be used to keep snow from sticking to your shovel, Christina said.
TikTok followers couldn’t stop thanking the smart driver for his advice, with one user writing: “I had no idea! Thanks!”
Another commented: “This is very informative for new car owners, singles and people living in areas with heavy snowfall, thank you very much.”
A third replied: “No one showed me or told me about these hacks, thanks!”
Christina listed a few more winter tricks that she can’t do with her hands.
He notes that using hand sanitizer can open car locks, and if you don’t have a scraper, using a spatula can be a great substitute.
Catching the wipers before the snow falls will prevent them from sticking to your car, Christina added.
Even applying shaving cream to the inside of your window will prevent fogging.
And she recommended always keeping a bag of cat litter in your trunk in case your car gets stuck.
Christina’s advice comes after a driver who said he found the special button claimed it was only available to drivers of one make of car.
Motorist Joe, who goes by @mrjturner on TikTok, says Ford drivers “feel like they’re winning” thanks to a special feature that makes them dream of defrosting windscreens.
Photographing his dashboard, Joe said the lower button on the Ford Fiesta offers a heated windscreen.
He wrote: “Any other Ford owners will feel like they’re winning – the heated windshield button…”
But users quickly responded that Ford drivers are not just lucky.
“Ford allows many manufacturers to do this. Your car is not special,” wrote one.
A heated windshield can make all the difference when driving in cold weather.
A heated windshield reduces ice, snow and moisture, giving you a clearer view of the road and making your drive safer and more comfortable.
According to 1st Call Windscreens Ltd, although not all cars are equipped with this feature, many manufacturers have recognized its benefits and have included it in their range.
These include Land Rover, Skoda, Mini, Nissan, SEAT, Jaguar and Volkswagen.
