The animal was found on the morning of January 12 in the Eling resort.

Officers have investigated the horrific incident and inquiries are ongoing.

Witnesses are now being sought.

PC Pimbblet, from Lyndhurst District Policing Group, said: “We understand this will be an upsetting incident for those walking around the park, but rest assured the incident is being investigated by local officers.

“If you see anything suspicious in the area between Thursday (January 11) evening (January 12) and Friday morning (January 12), please call 101 quoting incident number 44240016724.

“You can also report online via the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary website.

“Also, please call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

Residents of Totton were shocked by the sad discovery.

Dog walker Claire Murphy told the Echo: “The collision was very disappointing.

“We don’t have deer in Ele, so someone must have traveled by car to put it there.

“I hope the man is caught for the senseless killing.”
