In the Lahore High Court, a hearing was held on Imran Khan’s plea to stay the proceedings in 121 cases. The court has asked the Punjab government for a detailed report on the cases against Imran Khan by May 10.
A five-member larger bench headed by Justice Ali Baqer Najafi of the Lahore High Court heard the plea to stay the proceedings in 121 cases against chairman PTI Imran Khan.
Imran Khan’s lawyer said that the JIT was given access to Imran Khan on a court order, which was conducting investigations in various cases. The team investigated Imran Khan in various cases.
Justice Ali Baqir Najafi asked if the JIT had submitted the report to the court. The Attorney General said that the investigation report has not reached us yet. Justice Ali Baqir Najafi said it seems you did not take our order seriously.
The court asked the Punjab government to give a report on how many cases Imran Khan has been mentioned in, the details of the cases where Imran Khan is wanted by the police should also be given to the court.
Justice Minister Ali Baqir Najafi pointed out that if Imran Khan is innocent, the police should discharge him from the case and if he is guilty, they should challenge him. The court adjourned the hearing on Imran Khan’s petitions till May 12.
It should be noted that Imran Khan has filed a request to stop the processing of 121 cases. In addition to this, chairman PTI has also submitted a separate application for consolidation of 121 cases.
