According to the French news agency AFP, a key commander of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) Hamad bin Hamud al-Tamimi, along with his bodyguard, was killed in an alleged US airstrike in Yemen.
According to the news agency, security officials said, on condition of anonymity, that the airstrike targeted a house in the northern province of Marib, which al-Tamimi had recently rented.
