In Uttarakhand’s Haldwani, police opened a post overnight at Malik Park, where violence erupted over the raid. On a special note, the post was inaugurated by women inspectors who were injured in the violence in the presence of the DIG and the SSP.
Today, two women inspectors inaugurated the observation police post at Malik Park located in Banbhulpura, Haldwani.
Violence broke out on Thursday due to the movement against a tomb and prayer place built on Nazul land in Malik Park in Haldwani’s Banbhulpura. The rioters attacked with stones, bullets and petrol bombs, injuring more than two hundred and fifty policemen. Meanwhile, many vehicles belonging to the Banbhulpura police station were set on fire. A curfew was imposed across the region as the violence erupted. Police, PAC and paramilitary forces have also been deployed in the area. Arrests are now being made by rioters over the case. Meanwhile, the police opened a post overnight in Malik’s garden and issued a stern message to the rioters on behalf of the government.
