The dead body was taken out of the pond after salvage.
A 14-year-old boy drowned while taking a bath in a farm pond between Kumrai and Kenkra village under Gadhakota police station area of Sagar. Villagers and police reached the spot as soon as the incident was discovered. Where the teenager’s dead body was removed from the pond after rescue. The police have taken the matter under investigation by drawing up a case.
According to police, Aashiq’s son Lakhan Gound, 14, a resident of Kumrai, had gone to bathe in a farm pond near the village on Saturday. While bathing in the pond, he drowned due to stepping into deep water. As soon as the incident was reported, a crowd of villagers gathered at the spot. The police reached as soon as the message was received. Police began searching for Ashiq with the help of local divers. But he was not found. Subsequently, the SDERF team was called from Sagar. The team reached the spot and started rescue in the dam. Ashiq’s body recovered after about 4 hours of effort. The police made a panchnama of the dead body and sent it to the hospital for post-mortem.

Gadhakota Police Station Officer Rajnikant Dubey said that Ashiq had drowned in the pond while he was bathing. The dead body has been recovered and an autopsy has been performed. A case has been established and taken up for investigation.
