According to police, Aashiq’s son Lakhan Gound, 14, a resident of Kumrai, had gone to bathe in a farm pond near the village on Saturday. The police reached as soon as the message was received. Police began searching for Ashiq with the help of local divers. But he was not found. Subsequently, the SDERF team was called from Sagar. The team reached the spot and started rescue in the dam. Ashiq’s body recovered after about 4 hours of effort. The police made a panchnama of the dead body and sent it to the hospital for post-mortem.
