Police have revealed a robbery incident under Kotma police station in Anuppur district within 24 hours. The police have also arrested three suspects for robbery. The defendant had taken the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law hostage and carried out the robbery with a knife.

According to the information provided by the police, appellant Barkat Ansari’s father Maqsood Alam, a resident of Baskhali village, had lodged a complaint of robbery at Kotma police station. He had told that three unknown persons had entered the house between Kotma-Bijuri highway at knifepoint and looted gold and silver jewellery. On information, the police had registered the crime of robbery against an unknown accused at Kotma police station.

There was an atmosphere of fear in the entire area due to this robbery incident. Seeing the seriousness of the incident, Shahdol Zone Extra General Director of Police DC Sagar had announced a reward of Rs 30,000 to unknown accused. On which Police Inspector Anuppur Jitendra Singh Pawar formed a team headed by Additional Superintendent of Police Shivkumar Singh.

Within 24 hours, the team arrested three accused Chhotu Singh, father Amarjeet Singh (20), resident of Kathotia Police Station Manendragarh Chhattisgarh. Hall resident of village Bhalmudi police station Bijuri, Roshan Gond father Ramesh God (22) resident Korku Mohalla Ramnagar and Ganesh Singh father Gajadhar Singh (25) resident ward no. 12 Dhanpuri District Shahdol arrested.

In interrogation, the accused has admitted his crime. Looted items have not been recovered from the accused. The police interrogate continuously. The looted property, jewelry, etc. were distributed among themselves after the incident. The three defendants are being taken into police custody and the defendants’ previous criminal records are also being reviewed.
