Al Attiyah dominates in Morocco

The Qatari driver takes the Rally from end to end

The Qatari driver Nasser Al-Attiyah (Toyota Gazoo Team) achieved yesterday the final triumph in cars in the Rally of Morocco – the fifth of his career – and also won the last stage to express his absolute dominance in a race in which he only left escape victory in one journey.

Al Attiyah prevailed in the closing stage with 3:42 minutes of advantage over the Polish Jakub Przygonski (X-Raid Team) and 4:37 over the Saudi Yazeed Al Rahji (Overdrive Toyota).

The Qatari, 50 years old and three times winner of the Dakar (2011, 2015 and 2019), won the event with a 15:58 minute margin over Al Rahji (1: 10’52 ”) and the Argentine Lucio Álvarez (Overdrive Toyota) .

It joins this victory to those achieved consecutively between 2014 and 2018. In the last edition disputed, in 2019, the South African Giniel de Villiers prevailed.— EFE
