KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQMP) has won a long-running legal battle against Altaf Hussain over the ownership of a £10 million property in London.

According to details, the Properties Division (ICC) of the UK High Court ruled that MQM Pakistan and its members have the right to control the property.

It should be noted that the property in London was under the management of Altaf Hussain, the founder of MQM, whose value is said to be 3 billion 40 crore rupees.

In his order, the judge ruled that Altaf Hussain had renounced the party after the speech in August 2016 and was therefore no longer entitled to benefit from the property.

On the other hand, the convener of MQM Pakistan, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, while holding a press conference in Karachi, confirmed the decision of the British court and declared it a victory for the party.

Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that the property of the martyrs will now be used for the welfare of the people, including legal proceedings for the party’s martyrs, missing and captive workers.

He clarified that MQM Pakistan has decided that part of the property should be given to the widow of former MQM leader Imran Farooq who was murdered in London in 2010.
