Monday is the sixth day of the ongoing meeting at Kokernag in South Kashmir’s Anantnag. So far, five terrorist hideouts have been destroyed in the ongoing operation in the Gadul forests of Kokarnag. A burnt body has also been found from here. It is believed that this body may be that of terrorist Uzair Khan. In such a situation, the DNA samples of terrorist Uzair Khan’s family members are now to be examined.
Three security officials were killed in the encounter in Kokarnag on 13 September. The TRF, a branch of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, had claimed responsibility for this terror attack. It is said that terrorist Uzair, who has a reward of Rs 10 lakh, is involved in this attack. Uzair Khan is a local terrorist who resides in Naugam village of Kokernag. He has been associated with the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba since June 2022. Senior officials DGP and ADGP are likely to reach the venue on Monday.
