Supporters of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu have taken to the streets to protest his arrest. His party Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has called for a bandh across the state on Monday. Condemning the arrest of the former chief minister, Pawan Kalyan of the Jana Sena Party (JSP) has also supported the ties. A day after the arrest of the former CM, that is on Sunday, the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation has sent him to judicial custody for 14 days in a corruption case.
People asked to support the demonstration
TDP Andhra Pradesh President K Atchannaidu has asked the party cadre, people and supporters to participate in the movement and make it successful. JSP’s Pawan Kalyan also urged the workers to participate in the bandh peacefully. He has accused the ruling YSR party of harassing other opposition parties in the state.
After Chandrababu Naidu was sent to judicial custody till September 23, he was taken to Rajahmundry Central Jail. Heavy police forces were deployed in the prison before he was taken into custody. In protest against this, TDP workers gathered in the Vijayawada court premises. To bring peace in the area, the Rajahmundry police imposed Section 144.
