APP spokesperson: “We are not going to collaborate with vacating the president and becoming a country that is pitiful internationally”

The spokesperson for the Alliance for Progress spoke with CARETAS about the motion for presidential vacancy, signed by three seats in Congress. In addition, he responds to the criticisms and statements about an alleged alliance between the political party and Pedro Castillo, after the appointment of Carlos Jaico as the new presidential secretary, who was a member of APP.

“The congressmen who have signed the vacancy motion are not aware that this only destabilizes the regime and affects the entire economic aspect. For a long time we have been saying that if we continue in permanent crisis, vacating presidents, dissolving Congress, then that shows that we are a really immature country and thus no country will want to invest. We, therefore, are against vacating President Pedro Castillo ”.

The parliamentarian points out that they are in defense of democracy. “It is a position in defense of the country and because we think about the future and we cannot collaborate with being a country that is really hurting in the international context.”

Along the same lines, he maintains that “it is not possible that we will have four presidents in two years and that now they want us to have five. Salhuana also points out that Congress seeks to vacate not only President Castillo, but also the Vice President and Minister of the Midis, Dina Boluarte, in the supposed case that she takes over as Castillo Terrones’ replacement. “Let them vacate (Castillo) and return new elections. Then, another person comes in who is on the left and communist as they call it, but they will also seek to empty it, we better turn off the light, and we all leave ”.

Alliance between APP and Pedro Castillo?

After the appointment of the new presidential secretary, Carlos Jaico, who is a militant and former candidate for Congress for the Alliance for Progress, there are certain questions about the party led by Cesar Acuña and they point out that there would be an alleged alliance with Pedro Castillo.

Given this, the Salhuana parliamentarian responds that the comments are “totally misplaced, because there is no alliance” because “that means making joint decisions on issues of the country, but this appointment is a personal decision of the president and also everyone has the right to work ”.

Salhuana invites you to look at the professional capacity of Jaico, because that is what you should demand. “We at least do not condemn that the president appoints officials from his political environment because the winning party has the right to govern with its people, what we demand is that being people from their environment they are citizens who do not have the competence or the experience”.

Likewise, the parliamentarian considers that “if a person, who is from another political party, has a track record, experience, who knows what he has to do in the position he is going to perform, when he is hired”

However, he clarifies that “we do not know the man who has entered as secretary general of the Presidency, I do not know him personally, I have found out and I know that he has applied for APP, but he no longer has anything to do with the party, he is not A leader, he is not part of the environment, he does not work as an advisor on the bench, he has no link with the party. Regarding his professional career and if he has master’s degrees, trained in Europe, with a series of academic scrolls and he surely has, he is suitable for this and other positions ”.

Aggressions against Cesar Acuña

On the other hand, Salhuana denounced that after going to the house of the president of the party César Acuña, he found about 30 people, apparently from the group “La Resistencia”, shouting, haranguing and uttering a series of threats, insults and expletives, in front of the APP leader’s home, located in Surco, realizing that there was no police guard.

Given this, he announced that they are preparing a formal complaint “to present it to the Public Ministry for investigation, because we have some photographs and videos of the people who are in front of the house and we cannot ignore it.” He asks that those behind these groups be investigated “because they are people without values, undemocratic, unscrupulous and it is necessary to know who are those who finance all this, because it is not free”.

It also indicates that they will send a document to the Minister of the Interior; Avelino Guillén, to take action on the matter. “It is very easy to attack people, they are promoting violence and the authorities cannot allow this. Because one day they insult, then they attack you like Yonhy Lescano; then they can shoot you, or make use of a knife ”.
