Pirates have once again targeted a ship in the Arabian Sea. An Iranian fishing vessel was hijacked by Somali pirates 700 nautical miles west of Kochi, Indian officials said. However, after this incident, the Indian Navy mobilized its warship to rescue the vessel and free it from the possession of the pirates.

Officials said the Iranian ship was named MV Iman and had 17 crew members on board. India’s warship INS Sumitra has launched an operation to rescue people on board. Dhruv choppers on the warship soon surrounded the Iranian ship and gave it a warning. The Somali pirates were then asked to lay down their weapons and move towards Somalia. The Navy then safely evacuated all people on board.
