Winnipeg police say they’re arrested after a woman was found dead near the Edison Avenue apartment earlier this week, and investigators have warned that they could be more victims.

Police were called to the 200th block of Edison Avenue just before 5:30 a.m. Monday for information they said was “suspicious circumstances.”

Police spokesman Const. Rob Carver identified the victim as Rebecca Condois, 24.

He said part of his remains were found near the apartment building. Global News saw officers at the scene inspecting near the trash can.

Carver said it also led officers to search the Brady Road area in Winnipeg, which is under ongoing investigation.

The circumstances of this case led the murder investigators to suspect, but did not say why there may still be several victims.

On Wednesday, police arrested 35-year-old Jeremy Anthony Michael Schicki. He has been charged with first-degree murder and is in police custody.

Carver said authorities had executed a search warrant at the home of the accused, which was in the area where Condois’ body was found.

Police have asked those fitted with surveillance cameras in the area to check their tapes for anything suspicious.
