Ayushman Kharana is returning to the big screen with Anik. Directed by Anubhu Sinha, the film was aimed at informing the audience about the conflicts in the North East. Ayushman Kharana often refers in interviews to the film as an extension of Article 15. However, the numbers from the opening days of the film are not so appealing.
On its opening day, Ayushman Kharana starrer Anik has collected only Rs. According to Tarn Adarsh, a business analyst at 2.11 crore, this is a bad start. “The starting point was very low, although Biz has improved by evening,” he said. Needless to say, the first weekend depends a lot on the collection. See Tarn’s tweet on Anik here:

Ayushman’s other successful films like Andhadhan and Bareilly’s Barfi also had low opening day numbers, but were successful. While Sri Ram Raghun’s film did business of Rs. 2.70 crores, the film directed by Ashwini Air Tiwari earned Rs. 2.70 crores. His last film, Shubh Mangal Ziyad Saudhan, earned crores of rupees on the big screen. 9.55 crore, and this was their third highest opening day number.
The collection of the film is much less than Karthik Aryan’s Bhool Bhulia 2. The horror comedy directed by Anis Bazmi earned Rs 200 million. The total collection of 6.52 crore films has now exceeded Rs. 98 crore and today it is expected to cross the 100 crore mark.
A News 18 review of Anik read, “There is a lot to do and a lot of time to build the base. What sets the film apart is its screenplay which failed to generate an hour of interest in the film. The film manages to entertain as well as inform. It would have been a test of your patience if it had not been for the cast. Thankfully, it is not. “
