The headmistress of the school received the threatening letter on Wednesday. The letter threatened to burn the school if it did not pay within the stipulated time. Students have even been threatened with rape. The school authorities approached Bankura Sadar Police Station after receiving the letter. According to sources, a similar threatening letter has reached a college in Medinipur city. Bankura district president of Trinamool Chhatra Parishad Tirthankar Kundu approached the police station after receiving the news of the incident. Tirthankar Babu claims that someone has sent a letter to tarnish his image. Opposition student organizations have spoken out against the issue.

According to the school sources in Bankura, a letter reached the headmistress by post on Wednesday. In that letter, the sender identified himself as Tirthankar Kundu, the Bankura district president of the Trinamool Chhatra Parishad. The letter contains the name of the sender Harprasad Biswas. According to the letter, Bankura district president of the Trinamool Chhatra Parishad Tirthankar Kundu has started reorganizing the organization after the results of the last election came out. It requires a lot of money. For this, five lakh rupees has to be paid by June 25. If not, the school will be set on fire and the students will be raped. The letter also includes two mobile numbers. That number has been asked to be contacted.

The headmistress of the school was shocked to receive this letter by post. He informed the matter to Bankura Sadar Police Station. Meanwhile, Bankura district president of Trinamool Chhatra Parishad Tirthankar Kundu appeared at the police station after receiving the news of the letter. Tirthankar Babu claimed that he had no helper named Harprasad Biswas. He claimed that the incident took place to tarnish the image of the party. Tirthankar Babu said that a letter of the same statement has been sent not only to that school in Bankura but also to a college in Medinipur. He found out about the letter two days ago as a party. The Bankura district president of the Trinamool Chhatra Parishad has demanded punishment for the culprits after a thorough investigation into the two incidents. SFI and ABVP have been vocal in their condemnation since this incident came to light.
