Murshidabad : A major accident happened in Murshidabad today. A container of chlorine gas leaked while demolishing an old water tank at the Public Health Engineering Department of Murshidabad here. After this accident, 15 people became ill. Immediately after the incident people were admitted to the hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. After the Murshidabad accident, people complained of suffocation. Jiten Pal, in-charge of Lalbagh fire station in Murshidabad, said that a JCB machine was demolishing the old water tank. That’s when JCB accidentally broke a container of chlorine gas, after which people started having trouble in breathing and they complained of suffocation. He said that all the patients were immediately taken to Lalbagh Sub-Divisional Hospital, where their treatment is going on.
