Bangalore. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Saturday that he has been infected with Covid-19 and has developed mild symptoms. Bommai also canceled his visit to New Delhi.
Bommai said he lives in isolation at home. He tweeted: “I have been diagnosed with Covid-19 and have mild symptoms. I isolated myself at home. People who have been in contact with me in the last few days, please self-isolate and get tested for COVID-19. My visit to Delhi is cancelled.’
Bommai was scheduled to travel to New Delhi on Saturday to attend a meeting of the National Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Committee and the Governing Council of NITI Aayog. He is expected to meet the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national leadership and hold talks on recent developments in Karnataka and preparations for the 2023 assembly elections. On Friday, Bommai attended several meetings and events.
