The prosecutor told the jury that the conditions in which the deceased girl lived “were unfit for an animal, let alone a 16-year-old girl, who had to depend on her parents for care.”

A couple in Wales have been jailed for the manslaughter of their 16-year-old disabled daughter. A jury in Swansea, Wales, sentenced the dead girl’s father to seven and a half years in prison and her mother to six years in the case on Wednesday.
Prior to sentencing, the jury was told that the deceased, Kylia Tutford, died as a result of morbid obesity. Due to his disability, he required the support of a wheelchair and the help of his parents and spent the last months of his life in extremely dirty and unpleasant conditions.
The prosecutor told the jury that the conditions in which Kaylia lived “were unfit for an animal, let alone a 16-year-old girl, completely dependent on her parents for her care.”
Officials say that when the police and other concerned authorities reached Kaylia’s house, they were “shocked” by the smell of rotting flesh. Kaylia was found dead with multiple wounds on her body surrounded by trash, urine bottles and dirty toilet pads used for dog training.
During the hearing, the jury was told that when Kaylia was found dead, her body was covered in flies and insects and that she died of inflammation and wounds associated with the mutilation. She was born with spina bifida, which causes neurological and spinal problems. As a result, he suffered from hydrocephalus, where fluid collects on the brain.
Parental confirmation
Kylie’s father Alan Tutford admitted to the jury that he had stopped caring about his daughter since she became an adult. “I’m lazy,” he said. He had pleaded not guilty in the case before admitting he had a role in his daughter’s death.
A jury later convicted him of involuntary manslaughter and criminal negligence and sentenced him to seven and a half years in prison. Sarah Lloyd-Jones, Kylie’s mother, also pleaded guilty in the case, after which she was sentenced to six years in prison.
According to local media reports, Sara’s lawyer had told the jury during his arguments that his client suffered from depression and low intellect. In light of these arguments, Sara Allen has been sentenced to less time than her husband.
