Police have arrested the main accused in the case of gang-rape of an 18-year-old girl on Faisalabad Motorway M4 near Gojra.
Police have registered a case against the three accused and initiated action. The suspects include a woman and two men, while raids are being carried out to arrest the other two.
According to the FIR, three accused along with Toba Tek Singh’s daughter gang-raped her at gunpoint on the Faisalabad Motorway near Gojra.
The aunt of the girl told in the FIR that her niece was called to Gojra for interview by texting her. On reaching Gojra from Toba Tek Singh, the accused asked her to send her niece in the car. In the vehicle in which the niece was taken, there was a woman and two men. The accused gang raped the niece on the motorway, after which they threw her at Faisalabad Interchange and left.
According to the police, the victim girl has been given medical treatment, now DNA is being taken and samples have been sent to Lahore.
DPO Sardar Moharhan Khan said that two accused including a woman gang-raped the girl on the motorway and the main accused Hamad has been arrested. The fugitives will be arrested soon.
The DPO said that the case was registered at the request of the victim girl and the rapists would be severely punished.
On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar took notice of the incident of gang rape of a girl on the motorway near Gojra and demanded a report from RPO Faisalabad. He ordered immediate arrest of the accused.
The Punjab Chief Minister said that the accused should be brought to book and action should be taken in accordance with the law.
Lahore Motorway Rape Case
Earlier, on September 9, 2020, a nighttime rape took place on the Lahore Motorway.
The woman was on her way to Gujranwala from Lahore via Sialkot Motorway with her minor children when the vehicle ran out of petrol. Meanwhile, two accused came and took the woman and her children to nearby fields where the accused raped her and looted valuables, including Rs 1 lakh in cash, jewelery and debit cards and other important items.
One of the accused involved in the incident, Shafqat alias Baga, had arrested himself while the other accused, Abid Malhi, remained in hiding for a month and was finally arrested from Faisalabad. Gujjarpura police station registered a case against him.
