Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen has said that Pakistan is striving for comprehensive and sustainable economic development.
According to details, Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen attended a round table luncheon hosted by Pakistan-US Business Council in Washington DC, which was attended by representatives of US Chamber of Commerce, leading US business enterprises and State Bank Governor Raza Baqir, Secretary Finance. Yousuf Khan and Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Asad Majeed Khan also attended.
The Finance Minister said that Pakistan was striving for comprehensive and sustainable economic development, the fruits of which could reach the weaker sections.
Shaukat Tareen said that FBR has collected more than its target of about Rs 180 billion in the first quarter of the financial year 2021-2022. Similarly, exports will exceed 30 30 billion by the end of this year.
The finance minister said foreign exchange reserves also stood at 8 8 billion in the first quarter.
Shaukat Tareen said that considering all the indicators, it is hoped that the GDP growth will be up to 5% in the current financial year.
The finance minister further said that US companies have been invited to invest in special economic zones and assured all possible cooperation.
