Pakistan’s national airline PIA has suspended flight operations to Kabul.
A PIA spokesman said the Kabul operation would remain suspended until further orders. In view of the changing situation in Afghanistan, about 3,000 people were evacuated.
Officials say the PIA conducted a special operation even after the Taliban took over. The PIA evacuated the United Nations, the World Bank, the IMF and journalists.
According to the PIA, the captain and crew withdrew from Afghanistan at the risk of their lives and continued air operations to Kabul despite difficult circumstances.
No reason was given by the national airline for suspending the Kabul operation.
