Federal Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen has said that the present government is fully committed to protect social expenditure in Pakistan.
According to details, Pakistan’s Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen, who is on a visit to the United States, had a meeting with World Bank Vice President Hart Wag Schaefer and a delegation at the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington. Ayub Khan also participated virtually.
Also present were Governor SBP Raza Raza Baqir, Ambassador of Pakistan Dr. Asad Majeed Khan, Secretary Finance and other senior officials.
Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen said that the present government is fully committed to the implementation of structural reforms in Pakistan, social and societal expenditure and protection of the weaker sections.
Federal Minister for Finance Shaukat Tareen appreciated the role of the World Bank in improving and strengthening governance and service delivery in Pakistan through departmental reforms.
On the other hand, the World Bank said that Pakistan has made good progress in the implementation of structural reforms in various sectors, Pakistan needs to maintain momentum to achieve the development goals.
