New Delhi: The BJP has again won the by-elections in several states. Out of the total 10 by-elections in the country, 5 went to the BJP. Congress won 2 seats. The Aam Aadmi Party, Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) and YSR Congress (By Election Results) won one seat each. The Gerua camp has won in two states where winning was a prestige issue for the BJP.

Tripura (Election Tripura By Election) BJP has won 3 out of 4 assembly seats. This is the first time that the newly elected Chief Minister of Tripura Manik Saha has contested from the Town Baradowali Center. He lost to Congress’ Ashish Saha by more than 6,000 votes. For the first time in 30 years, CPIM has been defeated in Yuvrajnagar. The BJP has also won in this constituency. The left has dropped to second place.

The BJP also won by a large margin in the Surma constituency. The Congress and Tipra Matha-backed independent candidates came second in this constituency. On the other hand, the BJP fell behind in the two Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh as soon as the counting of votes began in the morning. Rampur and Azamgarh are the two strongholds of the Samajwadi Party. The Samajwadi Party has won in these two minority-dominated centers for many years. However, in the by-election of Padma Jhare, that Jayarath finally came to a halt. As Azam Khan and Akhilesh Yadav were elected MLAs, Rampur and Azamgarh centers were vacated. For this by-election is held in this seat. And despite falling behind, the BJP finally won two seats by a wide margin. Here, however, the BJP has got ‘help’ from the Bahujan Samaj Party. Analysts think that the vote of BSP Samajwadi Party has been ‘cut’. As a result, Gerua Shibir easily won in both the centers.

Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav did not even campaign in Rampur or Azamgarh. But Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath campaigned aggressively in both the centers. His own cousin Dharmendra Yadav contested from Azamgarh, but the confident Akhilesh did not campaign for him in Azamgarh.

On the other hand, Azam Khan, a powerful MLA from Rampur, was in jail for more than two years, but he did not put any member of his family in his place to contest from the Rampur Lok Sabha seat he won in 2019. His defeat from Rampur is a long way off. Diplomatic observers believe that Khan’s absence from the political scene, lack of support and Akhilesh’s absence from the campaign over the last two years may have affected the By-Election Results ballot box.
