BEIJING: China’s foreign ministry said on Monday it would “seriously” study restoring the previous visa-free regime for Japanese nationals to visit China.

China also hopes that Japan will cooperate with Beijing to facilitate cross-border travel between the two countries, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said at a regular press conference.

The issues of visa-free travel and free trade will be discussed in the Sino-Swiss talks

Wang was asked by a reporter why China has not yet resumed the visa-free policy suspended during the pandemic while signing visa-waiver agreements with countries such as Thailand.
