After a year of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, the Congress took out a padyatra in the rain in the city. The march started at 5 pm on Thursday.
The procession passed through Iqbal Chowk, Gandhi Chowk, Kamal Tiraha, Nehru Chowk and reached Dr. Ambedkar statue. Here the congressmen garlanded the statue of Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar and the officials addressed.
Mahila Congress, Youth Congress, NSUI, Seva Dal, Minority Congress, Scheduled Tribe, Congress Backward Class, Councilor Party, senior Congressmen, cell presidents and other workers participated in the yatra.
City President Rinku Tank said – Today we are celebrating the first anniversary of Bharat Jodo Yatra. Our leader Rahul Gandhi had started Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari today on 7th September. This journey of Rahul Gandhi started with the message of love to save the constitution of the country, democracy and brotherhood among the people of the country. The Yatra not only filled a new enthusiasm among the Congress workers, but also spread the message of love for the Congress to the masses.
