Sikar police station in Sadar has nabbed the interstate Kalbeliya gang. The gang consists of six members. Police have also recovered two stolen bikes from the gang’s possession. Kalbeliya gang members harass vehicles at night and break into houses. They used to commit theft by rendering sleeping people unconscious.

While giving information, Sikar Sadar police station said that on August 18, 2023, Rajesh Kumar (28), a resident of Sikar, Tetli Nagar, had given a report to the police that on the night of August 17, he was sleeping in the house. with his family.During this, thieves entered their house and sprayed intoxicating spray on the sleeping family, rendering everyone unconscious. After the family was rendered unconscious, the thieves stole gold and silver jewelry and cash and ran away.

In the morning, when those sleeping in the house woke up, they learned about the theft. Household items were found scattered in the fields. After some time it was found that the houses of Prakash Bhopa, Devilal Bhopa, Suresh Bhopa, Madanlal Khichad were also stolen by spraying them. The thieves took away gold and silver worth more than Rs.10. lakh from all five houses. Jewelery and cash worth Rs 1.5 lakh were taken away. Household items and empty boxes were found lying far away in the fields. The thieves had also consumed alcohol after going to the fields.

The police started registering a case on the notification report and formed a team to nab the miscreants and inspected the spot.The police collected information about the incident from people living near the spot. As there was no surveillance camera at the site, the team deployed informers and the nearby Deros were checked. During the investigation, the police found out that members of the Kalbelia gang were behind the incidents. Subsequently, the police identified the members of the Kalbeliya gang and raided their hideouts.

The police went to Bhilwara several times to arrest the Kalbelia gang. But on getting information from the police, the miscreants would flee from there and change their hideouts. Subsequently, the police traced the spot and nabbed the gang members from Bhilwara, Sikar and Laxmangarh. The arrested accused were identified as Bherunath Kalbelia (27) Bhilwara, Raju Nath Kalbelia (25) Chittorgarh, Rais Kalbelia (19) Tonk, Ranjit (20) Chittorgarh, Bablu Kalbelia (20) Bhilwara and Arjunnath Kalbelia (20) Bhilwara.

The police have also recovered two stolen bicycles from the possession of the accused. The gang members have confessed to carrying out dozens of theft and extortion incidents in many places, including Sikar and Laxmangarh. Superintendent of Police Sunil Kumar Jangid said Head Constable Mukesh Kumar and Constable Babulal played a special role in catching the gang technically.
