A case of ‘Love Jihad’ has come to light in Ambedkarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh. Here, a Dalit woman of Hindu religion has accused a young man named Dawood of ensnaring himself in the trap of love under the name of Hindu. According to the victim, she was not only brutally beaten after marriage but Dawood also pressured her to convert to Islam. The police have found out about the matter and started an investigation.
According to media reports, on Saturday (September 9, 2023), the victim reached the district police office. Here, while filing a complaint, she described herself as a resident of Malipur police station area in Ambedkar Nagar. According to the victim, she had met Dawood of Mirzapur Kodra village in Kotwali police station area of ​​the same district about 3 years ago. This meeting started with a phone call. Then, despite the victim’s repeated refusal, Dawood continued to call her.
During the meeting, Dawood had revealed his name as ‘Rahul’. A series of conversations ensued and during this, Dawood, posing as ‘Rahul’, caught the victim in the trap of love. Dawood also married the victim as per Hindu rituals at a temple in Malipur.
It is said that after the marriage the accused girl took to Akbarpur. Here he lived together with the victim in a rented house. Meanwhile, the woman also gave birth to a baby girl. Currently, the daughter’s age is approximately 2 years. In the report, the victim further said that from November 2022, the accused started assaulting her. One day, the accused also snatched the victim’s phone. From here he took the victim with him to his village. It has been told in the complaint that for the first time the victim suspected that the accused was a Muslim.

The victim says the accused’s family members used Islamic practices from where she came to know that Rahul was Dawood. After this, the victim began to be pressured to accept Islam. It has been told in the complaint that if he did not convert, he was not only beaten but also threatened with death. The woman, who somehow escaped from the clutches of Dawood and his family, has given a complaint to the District Superintendent of Police. The Chief of Police has ordered the concerned police station to investigate and take action.
