A case was registered against Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan and other PTI leaders under the provisions of Section 144, roadblock, assault on police and Section 302 including terrorism.
Chairman Imran Khan, Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Farrukh Habib, Hasan Niazi, Ejaz Chaudhry, Hammad Azhar, Fawad Chaudhry and Mian Mehmood-ul-Rashid have been named in the case.
The case has been registered at Race Course police station under DSP Sabir Ali.
According to the text of the FIR, the PTI workers were told that Section 144 would not be violated.
It was stated in the FIR that the workers were not paying attention and attacked the policemen. 13 policemen and constables were injured due to the attack and violence by the workers.
According to the FIR, the mob attacked with intent to kill, which had to be avoided with tear gas and shelling. Meanwhile, PTI workers were killed and many injured.
In the registered FIR, it was said that PTI workers threatened the institutions on behalf of Imran Khan, Hasan Niazi, Farrukh Habib, Fawad Chaudhry, Hammad Azhar, Mahmood Ur Rashid and Ejaz Chaudhry etc.
It is also stated in the text that police injured were taken to Services Hospital where PTI workers were also undergoing treatment, Ali Bilal died among the injured.
On the other hand, a petition against PTI activist Ali Bilal’s alleged death in police custody was submitted to the Racecourse police station.
In the petition, Head Warden Mohsin Naqvi, Rana Sanaullah Khan has been held responsible for the death, while CCPO Bilal Siddique and Sub-Inspector Rehan, among others, have also been named in the petition.
The application has been lodged at the police station race track against Liaqat Ali.
Also, the Chief Warden Punjab ordered an immediate inquiry into the alleged killing during a PTI rally in Lahore.
The Punjab Police has constituted an inquiry committee into the matter of Ali Bilal’s death, while a case has been registered.
It should be noted that Section 144 was imposed by the provincial government, for violation of which 37 PTI workers were arrested. Police and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers came face to face in Zaman Park Lahore. It became a battlefield.
Police also resorted to handcuffing, firing and water cannons to stop the PTI rally.
The windows of many vehicles were also smashed in the crowd by police and workers. The workers pelted stones at the police while the police resorted to heavy lathi charges. The police arrested several workers.
