“But in politics, the liquor stores are unevenly distributed, so we are putting special emphasis on the even distribution of liquor stores in every district,” he said.

Sisodia said that when the file was sent to former LG Baijal, he suggested many things which were considered and later the file was again sent to him in June last year and he approved. According to him, the new policy emphasized that if liquor stores are divided equally, then there will be 2-3 stores in each department.

He further claimed that the former OG had no objection to opening liquor shops in an unauthorized place when the case was sent to him. But when the store opening dossier was sent to him in the first week of November, he suddenly changed his position.

The shops were supposed to open on November 17, but on November 15, LG had imposed a condition that DDA’s permission was required for opening shops in unauthorized locations. Whereas before that, LG approved the opening of stores there, he claimed.
