ISLAMABAD: Imports rise again despite suspension of trade with India.
According to details, the first month of 2024 saw a huge increase in Pakistan’s imports from India. Imports from India rose for the third time in a year, government sources said.
According to government sources, imports from India in January 2024 increased by 29% year-on-year, last month’s imports from India were $32.6 million, and imports from India in January 2023 were $25.4 million.
Imports from India also increased in February and May of last year. It is worth noting that the interim government stopped the process of appointing a trade officer in India as well. Pakistan stopped trade with India in August 2019.
