They cited technical issues with the site’s marquee, which would need to be fixed before it could be opened.
Ollie Norman, CEO of itison and creator of Elfingrove, said: “We’ve been planning Elfingrove for a long time; we love bringing such a magical festive event to town, and it’s been great to see people enjoying the show these past couple of days.
Unfortunately, due to a technical issue with the marquee, we have had to temporarily close the event, as a precaution.
“While things like this happen in planning and engineering that are out of our control, we are saddened to disappoint everyone who is due to come with us today.

The outstanding company is on site and doing everything they can to fix the issue to ensure the event can be reopened again as soon as possible.
“Safety is our number one priority, and the outstanding company is working closely with the consulting engineering firm to open the event again as soon as possible.
“Our aim is to put on a wonderful festive event for all to enjoy during the dark months, and we are forced to close the event today.

We previously told how Itison promised “a world-class ice experience to rival the world’s great cities” at the city’s Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum starting yesterday.
This year’s event will include the UK’s first ever Snow Wheel, Skate Side Dining, Apres Skate Bar, Candyland, a dedicated toddler rink and the chance to skate with Santa.
