FBR Rewards Scheme, prizes will be distributed today
The first draw of the rewards scheme for shoppers from retailers linked to the Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) point-of-sale system will be held on Saturday.
According to a statement issued by FBR, prizes of Rs. 53 million will be distributed under the reward scheme. The first prize will be Rs. 1 million.
The second place will be given two prizes of Rs. 5.5 lakhs, the third place will be given four prizes of Rs. 2.5 lakhs and the fourth place will be given Rs.
According to the FBR, customers will have to take a receipt from the shopkeeper and send it to a simple mobile app for verification. Sent in December 2021. Entries will be drawn on Saturday and receipts sent from January 1 will be included in the next draw.
It may be recalled that the Federal Board of Revenue had on December 13 launched a reward scheme for purchases from Tier One retail outlets affiliated to POS.
According to the FBR, the rewards scheme aims to ensure maximum transparency and prevention of revenue evasion through real-time sales monitoring. This will also ensure that the tax collected from consumers at the point of sale is credited to the exchequer.
Consumers can participate in the draw by confirming the receipt of purchase through FBR’s Tax Easy mobile app or by sending an SMS to invoice number 9966.
The FBR says a list of registered retailers is available on its website.
