Islamabad: The important emergency meeting of the Election Commission has concluded after the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the Punjab and KP elections. The Supreme Court decision was reviewed in detail at the meeting.
Sources say the Election Commission has directed the provincial election commissioners to speed up preparations for the elections. The Electoral Commission will also take the Attorney General’s opinion on the Supreme Court’s decision. The meeting has been called again at 11 a.m. tomorrow.
It should be noted that in the order of the Supreme Court, the Election Commission has been ordered to give dates for elections in Punjab after hearing the President and to give dates for elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after consulting the Governor.
