Ahmed Hassan Imran: Aqsa Mosque. The mosque is located in Al Quds, the third pilgrimage site of Islam in the holy city of Jerusalem. After Mecca and Medina, the Aksar Mosque is the place in Islam. The holy city of Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque have been under Israeli occupation since 1986. Occupying Israelis snatched the holy site from Jordan during the Arab-Israeli war.

This is the Jerusalem that Sultan Saladin liberated from the Ayyubid Crusaders and arranged for the protection of the Holy City. The religious significance of Jerusalem is immense. The city is considered sacred by Christians and Jews. Muslims have never stopped Christians from worshiping in Jerusalem since the time of Saladin’s Ayub. And as ‘murderers of Jesus,’ the Christians expelled the Jews from the whole area, from Jerusalem and West Asia. Few Jews returned to Muslim rule in Palestine and Jerusalem. Muslims have never interfered in their worship. But later (in 1986), after the Zionist Jews occupied Jerusalem, they started claiming the Aqsa Mosque as their holy place. They impose restrictions on Palestinian Muslims who wish to come to worship at the Aqsa Mosque.

Especially in every month of Ramadan, their activities reach their peak. Besides, they impose various restrictions on prayers in Aqsa Mosque. Only boys over 50 and under 12 are allowed to pray and worship here. The rest of the Israeli army chased them away with rubber bullets, sticks and tear gas. They also allow a limited number of elderly people to perform Jumu’ah prayers at the Aqsa Mosque.

The Israeli army has set up several checkpoints at different distances to allow Palestinians to enter. They have to try one of the checkposts in Peru by showing their various passes.

However, the desire of the Palestinians to pray in the Al-Aqsa Mosque has not diminished. Many times they have been martyred at the hands of Israeli soldiers. But they never moved away from the Aqsa Mosque.

On the night of the 27th of Ramadan, the day before Jumatul Bida this year, thousands of young Muslims broke through the Israeli army’s checkpoints and barricades and entered the Aqsa Mosque and the adjoining Dome of the Rock. They stay there for Jumatul Bida prayers. On the last Friday, more than two and a half lakh worshipers offered prayers at the Aqsa Mosque. Of course, this was not easy. Hundreds of Palestinians have been seriously injured in Israeli airstrikes. But they did not leave the holy precincts of Masjidul Aqsa even at the risk of their lives. Palestinian women have shown the most interest and enthusiasm. Their enthusiasm for performing the Friday prayers at the Aqsa Mosque surprised even the Jewish army. According to them, if in the holy precincts of Al-Aqsa Mosque, where all the prophets of the world, including the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) have performed the prayers, if once we can perform the intended prostration of Allah, then life will be successful.

On the day of Jumatul Bida and before it, the young people who risked their lives and overcame all obstacles to appear in the huge courtyard of Al-Aqsa Mosque, were overjoyed and did the first thing they did, bowing their heads to the ground wherever they could. .

In this context, a scene has flooded everyone. Some young men broke through the barricades of the Israeli army and entered the holy precincts of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, breaking down in tears and prostrating. Says I have tried every time in Ramadan for the last 10 years. But the Israeli army did not face batons and weapons. Today Allah has made me successful. So I just bowed in the much awaited prostration to enter. Inshallah Al Quds will be free one day.
