The laughter wizard died at the age of 58. Raju Srivastava bid farewell to millions of fans. He was undergoing treatment at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi for the last one and a half months due to a heart attack. His physical condition was deteriorating due to heart disease. The mind stops working. Though his condition improved, Raju breathed his last in the hospital on Tuesday morning.

He was born in 1963 in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Raju’s father Ramesh Chandra Srivastava was a poet. He named the boy Satya Prakash Shrivastava. However, later, Raju gained more popularity than his nickname. He could imitate the voices of big stars since childhood. His ability made him popular in the area. Since then he dreamed of becoming a comedian.

As time progressed, Raju gained more and more fame as a comedian. However, he felt that if he stayed in Kanpur, his talent would not get the respect it deserved. So he decided to go to Mumbai. Also, Raju came to Mumbai with many dreams in his eyes. Initially, he had to struggle a lot in Mumbai. The money brought from home also ended. It is facing a major financial crisis.

At that time, Raju’s dream of becoming the best actor with two eyes started to fade. Circumstances were such that he had to take up the steering of an auto to meet his expenses. He was somehow keeping his dream alive by doing small events. And he used to drive his auto day and night and manage his own expenses. His first salary as a comedian was only Rs.50. He said in an interview at the time that he looked to Johnny Lever to clear his mind.

One day he got an opportunity to participate in a comedy show. From here he got so much fame that he never looked back. Raju participated in ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ from Didi National’s popular comedy show ‘Tea Time Manoranjan’. Its popularity is increasing day by day. He soon became the audience’s homeboy.

But not only on stage but also got the opportunity to act in various Bollywood films. Raju played small roles in several films like ‘Tijab’, ‘Meon Pyaar Kya’, ‘Bazigar’. Raju also received death threats during this time for joking about Pakistan and underworld don Dawood Ibrahim in various programs.

Amidst all this, in 1993, she married her long-time lover. They have two children Antara and Ayushman. Comedian Raju contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Kanpur with the Samajwadi Party. Later he joined BJP. He was appointed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. He traveled to different cities of the country and ran Swachh Bharat campaign.
