On Wednesday 29 will take place the presentation of the second edition of the book The independence of Peru: from the Bourbons to Bolívar, edited by the Central Reserve Bank of Peru and compiled by the historian Scarlett O’Phelan.
It is a series of essays written by renowned historians, covering everything from the formation of government boards to the consolidation of the independence process.
This new edition of the book –published for the first time in 2001– has six unpublished articles on topics little discussed so far, such as Bolívar’s position on science and the environment, or the link between the Spanish magistrates and the courts. of independent Peru.
The comments of the presentation will be in charge of the historians Carlos Aguirre, Elizabeth Hernández and Carlota Casalino, with the participation of O’Phelan.
