The government has decided to authorize chairman NAB. The Federal Cabinet approved the amendments in the NAB Rules by circulation.
According to the amended text of the NAB rules, the Chairman of the NAB will be able to refer the cases returned from the accountability courts to any other relevant forum.

As per the powers conferred on Chairman NAB, after receiving the case from NAB, the concerned institution will be empowered to collect evidence afresh, the case cannot be transferred from one court to another.
According to the amendments, in the absence of the Chairman NAB, the Deputy Chairman of NAB will exercise the powers of the Chairman, in the absence of the Deputy Chairman, the Association will be able to delegate the powers of the Chairman to all senior officers of HAFFA.
