General Syed Asim Munir will be the new Army Chief of Pakistan for three years from 29 November, General Syed Sahir Shamshad Mirza will be the new Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee from 27 November. The Ministry of Defense has issued a gazette notification for the appointment of both. The resignation of General Qamar Javed Bajwa as Army Chief and General Nadeem Mirza as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee has also been approved. The gazette notification regarding the appointment of new leadership of the Pakistan Army, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and Army Chief has been issued by the Ministry of Defence. According to the announcement, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza’s promotion to General and appointment as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee will be effective from November 27. General Sahir Shamshad Mirza has been appointed Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee for 3 years. General Syed Asim Munir’s promotion to General and appointment as Chief of Army Staff will take effect on November 29. The appointment of General Syed Asim Munir as Chief of Army Staff has also been made for 3 years. According to the notification, promotions and appointments have been made under Article 243 four A, B, Article 48 and Section 8 A, 8 D of the Pakistan Army Act 1952. Notifications of approval of retirement of General Qamar Javed Bajwa as Army Chief and General Nadeem Raza as Chairman of Joint The Chiefs of Staff Committee has also been issued. Under which General Qamar Javed Bajwa’s retirement as Army Chief will take effect on November 29. General Nadeem Raza’s retirement will be effective from November 27.
