Pi News – Sky News presenter Caleb Bond said ham and cheese sandwiches were “banned” because they were “apparently unhealthy”. Western Australia is banning ham and cheese sandwiches from school canteens, with lunch classified as “red” under new dietary guidelines for students across the state to promote healthy eating. The state uses a traffic light system to rank foods according to their nutritional value in green, amber and red categories. Food products considered “red”, including chips, sweets and other unhealthy foods, are prohibited from being sold in school canteens. “That’s something we should be concerned about,” Mr Bond said.
