A case of ‘Love Jihad’ has been unearthed from Katni district of Madhya Pradesh. Here, a young man named Salman has been accused of raping a Hindu girl for six months by hiding his religion. Later, the victim performed an abortion on the accused. The girl has also been threatened with death if she does not marry. After getting the information, on Monday (September 18, 2023), the girl’s family registered a case against the accused. The police have arrested Salman.
According to media reports, the incident took place in Sleemanabad police station area of ​​Katni. The 20-year-old victim, a resident of Lakhanwada village here, had gone to Tewari village for some work six months ago on March 10, 2023. It was here that the girl met Salman. The accused introduced himself as ‘Salman Kushwaha’ and befriended the victim. Within a short time, both shared their numbers. Later, the relationship between the accused and the victim increased. During this period, Salman raped the victim several times. After about 5 months, the girl became pregnant.
Meanwhile, the girl got information from somewhere that Salman was a Muslim. The victim told the whole story to his family. At the same time, Salman started putting pressure on the girl for abortion. It is alleged that one day Salman got the victim an abortion after being given an opportunity. He buried the fetus in a deserted place. Finally, on Monday, the victim’s family reached the police station with the complaint. He has stated in his complaint that Salman also pressurized the victim to marry him. If he refused, he was also threatened with death along with his family.

On Monday, police registered an FIR under Section 376 of the IPC and other relevant sections against accused 21-year-old Salman based on the victim’s complaint. Salman was also arrested. The victim has been taken to hospital for a medical examination. According to police station in-charge Akhilesh Dahiya, the buried fetus is also being taken out and medically tested.
