Important decision to reduce traffic congestion in Karachi
Karachi: Transportation and Logistics has taken an important decision to reduce the traffic congestion in Quaid-e-Azam city under which the containers coming in KPT have been shifted to another place.
The committee headed by Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi decided that after the commencement of Pipri Marshalling Yard, all cargo containers arriving in KPT would be shifted to Bonded Pipri Marshaling Yard and unloaded goods in Bonded Pipri Marshaling. Including customs clearance will be done.
This decision will significantly reduce the heavy traffic congestion on the roads of Karachi. Federal Minister for Railways Azam Swati, Federal Minister for Civil Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Trade Advisor Razzaq Dawood, Chairman Port Qasim Rear Admiral Syed Hassan Nasir Shah, Chairman KPT Nadir Mumtaz, Chairman PNSC Rizwan Khan Ahmed, Chairman OGRA Masroor Khan, secretaries and other senior officials also attended the meeting.
The Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs further instructed the participants that the committee would implement all the agendas in the next meeting.
