Lahore: (Web Desk) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed his reaction to the 3-member judicial commission to investigate the audio leaks.
In his message on social networking site Twitter, Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan said that the federal government has constituted a commission of inquiry under Section 3 of the Commission of Inquiry Act 2017 to look into the issue of audio leaks.
He said he did not consider who is behind the illegal and unconstitutional surveillance of the Prime Minister’s Office and the sitting judges of the Supreme Court. Who are these powerful and unknown elements who are intercepting and recording telephone conversations of citizens including high public officials. ?
The former prime minister said this is a grave violation of the privacy guaranteed under Article 14 of the Constitution. Those who leak phone calls on social media through fabrication and manipulation should also be held accountable.
He argued that democracies governed by the rule of law suggest that the state should not arbitrarily intervene in certain aspects of life, guaranteed under Article 14, which would have been a flagrant violation of the right to privacy and dignity. is when the state illegally monitors an individual.
Imran Khan said some of the recently leaked calls were made on what was supposed to be a secure phone line in the prime minister’s office, but they were illegally tapped and tampered with. Apparently, behind such audacious wiretapping are elements who do it without the knowledge of the command and even the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
He added that who are these people who are above the law and beyond the orders of the prime minister of the country and who are carrying out such illegal surveillance, the commission must identify such elements.
