Actions that avoid risks

In the statement, Catalina Salazar Aguilar, coordinator of the Department of Nursing in Public Health of the IMSS Yucatán, indicated that one of the actions that allows safeguarding the integrity of people who use public transport is the correct use of the face mask, since some people can contract the coronavirus and not have symptoms but can transmit it.

Another of the recommendations that are suggested is to respect the healthy distance of at least 1.5 meters between people; as well as constant hand washing or use of alcohol-based gel at least 70%.

Hand washing and use of gel

The specialist recommended not forgetting to apply the alcohol-based gel, especially when getting on public transport and after paying. Similarly, when leaving the vehicle, hands should be disinfected and, as soon as possible, washed with soap and water.

Catalina Salazar recommended carrying the exact amount of money to pay in cash, in this way the handling of money that has had contact with other people is avoided. It is important to favor natural ventilation or monitor the correct maintenance of the artificial ventilation of the transport.

In case of sneezing or coughing, cover your nose and mouth with the inner corner of your arm, even if you wear a mask.

Avoid going out if not necessary
