Collector and SP held a press conference in Mohan Auditorium of the Collectorate regarding the three-tier Panchayati Raj elections in Rewa district. In the meeting, Collector and District Election Officer Manoj Pushp and SP Navneet Bhasin discussed in detail about the Panchayat elections. Manoj Pushp said that elections will be held in three phases in the district. Necessary preparations are being made for the Panchayat elections as per the schedule set by the State Election Commission.
Elections in 256 gram panchayats in the first phase
In the first phase, elections will be held in 256 gram panchayats of development blocks Hanumana, Mauganj and Naigarhi. Voting for this will be held on June 25. In the second phase, elections will be held in 284 gram panchayats of development blocks Rewa, Raipur, Karchulian and Gangev. Voting for this will be held on July 1. In the third phase, elections will be held in 280 gram panchayats of development blocks Sirmour, Jawa and Tyonthar. Voting for this will be held on July 8.
Nominations will be filed from May 30
Notification for all the three phases of elections will be issued simultaneously on May 30. The nomination papers will be filed from this day itself. Every important information related to Panchayat elections will reach the voter with the help of media. The Collector said that all journalists must provide information related to elections and law and order. They will be acted upon promptly. The role of media is important in conducting peaceful and fair elections.

The Collector gave information about the model code of conduct of elections, restrictions imposed under the Noise Control Act, Defacement of Property Act, Section-144, filing of nomination papers, manifesto and affidavit, voter list and polling station.
