BEIJING: Recent rains and floods in China have killed 15 people and left three missing, while millions more have been affected.

According to a foreign news agency, recent rains in China have caused havoc. China’s Shanxi province has been hit hardest by torrential rains and floods.

The floodwaters also destroyed standing crops on millions of acres, forcing more than 120,000 people to evacuate from the affected areas.

Thousands of houses and buildings were reduced to rubble by landslides in various parts of China during the rains.

The Chinese administration says Shanghai province has received five times more rain than usual and more rain is expected in the next few days. It has rained for three months in one month.

More than 1.7 million people have been affected by the recent torrential rains and floods, said Wang Kirvi, a local emergency response officer.
