In the fastest cabinet reshuffle in Morocco, Moroccan King Mohammed VI appointed today, Thursday, a new Minister of Health, to succeed Nabila Rmeili in the new government of Aziz Akhannouch. ,
The royal court statement read:
“In accordance with the provisions of Chapter 47 of the Constitution, and upon the proposal of the Head of Government, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, on Thursday, October 14, 2021, appointed Mr. Khaled Ait Taleb as Minister of Health and Social Protection, succeeding Mrs. Nabila Al-Rumaili.
This appointment comes in accordance with the constitutional requirements, and based on the request submitted by the Prime Minister, for the high consideration of His Majesty the King, to relieve Mrs. Al-Rumeili from her governmental duties, who submitted a petition to devote herself fully to her duties as President of the Casablanca City Council, after it became clear to her the amount of work that this requires from her. The representative mission, and what it requires of continuous follow-up to the issues of its residents and the open workshops in this great city, which will affect the many obligations and daily support required by the health sector, especially in the circumstances of the pandemic.
His Majesty the King, may God protect him, approved the proposal of the Prime Minister to appoint Mr. Ait Taleb, to complete the open workshops and the urgent challenges of the health sector, foremost of which is the continuation of managing the health aspect of the Covid-19 epidemic, and the smooth running of the national vaccination campaign.”
