Two 17-year-old boys have been arrested in Australia for killing 14 kangaroos.

Police say East Gray kangaroos were found dead in the Sydney area, including two small kangaroos.

Kangaroos have been reported dead by nearby residents.

Police said they found the carcasses of the animals at two different locations in the area. One man found a small female kangaroo alive, which volunteers called ‘Hope’.

Talking about the little female kangaroo, Janelle Rains said it took about two hours to bring her to consciousness.

The two arrested boys will be produced in a juvenile court on November 22. He is accused of killing and maiming animals.

Police have not provided details of the boys, but under New South Wales law, anyone who abuses an animal is liable to five years in prison and a لاکھ 2.5 million fine.

An average of 50,000 animal cases are reported in Australia each year.
