In November travel will be allowed again

The US government announced that in early November it will reopen its border with Mexico to travel for non-essential reasons, given the advance of the vaccination scheme among Mexicans living in the border area.

Before the announcement, the US ambassador to Mexico, Ken Salazar, stressed that both nations are ready to reactivate tourism and trade.

Starting in early January 2022, all international travelers entering through land and ferry ports of entry – whether for essential or non-essential reasons – must have a complete Covid-19 vaccination schedule and offer proof of their vaccine, noted the embassy.

Now only travelers with an essential reason are allowed to enter the US.
